1975 Disneyland Map
The 1975 Version Disneyland Map highlighted America on Parade, a park celebration that started in the summer of 1975 and was planned to go through 1977. In honor of the United States of America’s bicentennial, Disneyland’s Director of Entertainment Bob Jani organized the parade that ran once during the day and again at night before the fireworks.3 The more than 34 minutes of parade music included the song “The Glorious Fourth” which was written by the Sherman Brothers. At the time it was the first piece of music they had composed for Disney since 1968.4 The bottom left corner of the map shows Mickey, Donald, and Goofy dressed and carrying a flag representative of the early American colonial period.
