1962 Disneyland Map
Shortly after 1961, the 1962 Version Disneyland Map was released. Its quick introduction was not a surprise as Walt Disney had several major new attractions just on the horizon. To help differentiate it from the 1961 map, that was quickly being phased out, the 1962 map was given a blue border. Three groundbreaking attractions that are still at the park today are highlighted in the 1962 version map. The Haunted Mansion was moved from a low profile area near the Jungle Cruise to a more prominent location on the north side of New Orleans Square. New Orleans Square was improved with a new area of shops and stores alongside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. With the Haunted Mansion moved out of the way, the Jungle Cruise was re-envisioned. A pool of elephants and other details can be viewed in the 1962 map. And the Enchanted Tiki Room, which was about a year away from opening, made its first appearance in the 1962 version Disneyland map.
